808 screened at Sheffield Doc Fest last Sunday (7th June) for first time in Europe! It was a perfect place for the film to screen and it really found a great audience. I had an amazing time up in Sheffield and so did the team who visited with me, Co-Producer Matthew Jarman and Associate Producer Sarah Pinchemain.
We had another sell out crowd in attendance for the screening which was extremely humbling. Following a great Q&A with myself, Graham Massey and A Guy Called Gerald, I got a chance to meet a lot of the audience and talk about my experiences making the film. It was a great opportunity and really fantastic to get some reactions direct from the crowd.
Following the screening we held an after party at the Leadmill, hosted by You Know Films, where Graham and Gerald played a special live 'Rebuild' acid set, closing it out by stripping all the sounds slowly back to reveal a deep, rumbling, decayed 808 kick which shook the Leadmill to it's core! It was a fantastic night and one I'm sure both myself and the big crowd in attendance will remember for a long time.
So a big thank you goes out to everyone involved with the festival, they were fantastic hosts! Hopefully I'll be back every year!
